Back on home roads and it’s that time again, my annual post-France Clows Top/Abberley 20 mile TT. Set my fastest time last year, beating my previous 2012 best by over a minute. Only gone and done it again taking another 1m 13s off my 2021 time.16 September, 2022
Well that was unexpected. Final ride before coming home and feeling good as I approached Claviers so decided to stretch my legs up Montée à Claviers. A new PR and another KOM to boot. Not the one I really wanted but nevertheless it was on my list. So, another great summer of cycling in France comes to an end. This year I clocked up 1,300 miles with 114,000ft of climbing, or 2,100km and 35,000m in Euro speak. Doubt I’ll ever top last year but this comes a very close second.

And it was looking like I wouldn’t make it up to Tanneron and around the back of Lac de Saint-Cassien either but finally made it today. connect.garmin.com/activity/961050690612 September, 2022
It was beginning to look like I wasn’t going to make it down Gorges de la Siagne and up to Saint-Cézaire this year but finally made it and glad I made the effort. connect.garmin.com/activity/959121736411 September, 2022
Immense 51 miles with 4,500ft of climbing today for Kay up to Col du Bel Homme up again to Col de Valferriere and back to Claviers through Mons, Seillans and Broves. connect.garmin.com/activity/95848059009 September, 2022
Tremendous effort from Kay today. 21 miles with 1,600ft climbing at 16.5mph. Pushing it start to finish, dropping me twice! on the final climb, and fighting a head wind all the way home.8 September, 2022
Big day out touring up, down and around the Verdon Gorge. And couldn’t have picked a better day for this ride. Awesome day out with loads of photos.A few photos that I took on my way down the gorge heading to lac Sainte-Croix – Rive Gauche over Col d’Illoire.
And a few more that I took on my way back from the lake – Rive Droite over Col d’Ayen.
