Final stage of The Tour Of The Abberleys this morning, the Worcester Circuit. And it would be fair to say I just haven’t had the legs this weekend and it’s been a tough few days mentally and physically. At least a little bit of pride restored today and overall an improvement on last year.5 May, 2019
Bugger. Scratch what I said yesterday. Turns out 3 riders did get away and took a minute out of the rest of us. Still, long way to go and expect it all to kick off today. Today it’s stage 3, the Hillside Circuit. So stage 3 of The Tour Of The Abberleys didn’t quite go according to plan. In the mix for the first 4 laps but blew a gasket on the penultimate climb and emptied the tank just to limit my losses on the final lap. Chances of recovering any time tomorrow? Slim to none.

The 21st edition of The Tour Of The Abberleys kicked off this morning with a 3 mile Prologue Time Trial.Could I have pressed a bit harder in the Prologue? Possibly, but not a great deal more. Managed to dip just inside 7 mins and with the exception of the the 3 lead times 15 seconds is all that separates the majority of the field.
Stage 2 of The Tour Of The Abberleys, the Astley Circuit, came a couple of hours after the Prologue.
A combination of small time gaps and blustery conditions meant nobody, to my knowledge, was able to get away so 3 laps and 42 miles around the Astley Circuit ended in a bunch finish.
